In 2002 we were graced with Sam Raimi’s Spider-man trilogy. This has been the starting point for the films of the Comic character that Marvel never wanted to produce.
In five to ten years times I believe the sequels of the original Star Wars trilogy will be met with the same (if not more) scorn as George Lucas’s infamous prequel trilogy. And the 8th episode of the series is reason enough to believe so.
Planet of the Apes. A franchise which dates back to the late 60’s, has accumulated 9 films ranging from remakes to prequels. I’m not going to discuss the inadequate trilogy of prequels which comes from our friends at LucasFilm, but instead the good, in places.

Shutter Island is a masterpiece most said Leonardo DiCaprio should have received his first Oscar for. His performance, along with well-placed shots, makes the viewer feel as though they are U.S. Marshal Edward “Teddy” Daniels. It isn’t until the twist comes into play that the viewer begins to feel like DiCaprio’s other self, Andrew Laeddis which causes confusion to the film. During the final discussion between Edward and Dr. John Cawley it is seen as though we are given all of the answers for a fully explained ending which makes for one of the greatest twists in cinema history; but what if Edward actually is Edward “Teddy” Daniels and not Andrew Laeddis? La La land gets confused with indie title Moonlight for best picture, Hillary Clinton looses to Trump and has a Razzie winning documentary on her campaign and Suicide Squad wins an Oscar. What a great year in general.
Most Christmas themed movies are as painful as passing a kidney stone and yet get a free pass as they claim to be in the spirit of the holidays. To save you from the agony of sheer boredom here is my list on Christmas themed films that are actually good:
