South London artist Jesse James Solomon released a suprise six-track EP today.
‘Strata’ features Jesse James Solomon rapping effortlessly and naturally over chilled, floating instrumentals – mostly produced by Felix Joseph.
The Elephant and Castle raised artist strays from the energetic style of his verse on Suspect’s hit ‘One Way’ (featuring Skepta and Jesse James Solomon) – ‘Strata’ has a more composed, laid-back feel to it.
Despite this laid-back style, Jesse James Solomon still captures many different aspects of growing up and living in South London.
Two vocalists, Kadiata and Eliza, supply the tranquilizing hooks on ‘Under the Sun’ and ‘Don’t Make Me’ – giving an extra element to the EP.
