CULTIVATION’s Artists To Watch Out For This Year

Here are some artists we think are due to blow up this year. Grime, R&B, Hip Hop and pop artists are all included in our list and we recommend you listen and check out all of these artists for yourself!

SiR is a 29 year old R&B artist who can sing and produce.Despite coming late to music, he has made a name for himself and signed to TDE earlier this year.

His combination of hip hop and soulful R&B have made his music increasingly popular and have allowed him to work with other in demand California artists Iman Omari and Anderson Paak.

SiR will be looking to follow in the footsteps of other TDE signees Isaiah Rashad, Kendrick Lamar and Jay Rock.

Tom Misch

Misch is an exciting young multi instrumentalist and producer from South London. The past few years, he has steadily been releasing music and has begun to build up a fan base.

He has also worked with a huge variety of artists from different genres, and often sings over his tracks. Some of the artists Misch has worked with include: Novelist, Loyle Carner, Will Heard and Jordan Rakei.

We fully expect Tom Misch to blow up this year; he has already begun his rise by appearing at festivals such as Wildlife and giving live performances across the country.

Novelist is one of the most exciting up and coming Grime artists there is.

The 20 year old from Lewisham is making waves in the grime scene right now – producing his own beats and featuring on massive artists tracks, such as Skepta’s ‘lyrics’.

Novelist has also gained recognition through his political views and his promotion of politics in Grime. A member of the Labour Party and a frequent political commentator, Novelist is mature beyond his years with his political views similarly as he is with his music.

Jay Prince

East London rapper and producer Jay Prince has just released ‘late summers’,  a mellow, nostalgic hip hop mixtape. The London rapper provides a unique sound contrary to the grime scene that is exploding right now.

His chilled self-produced beats and relaxed tone work together perfectly to give unique music.

The recently graduated 22 year old has already worked with some popular London artists such as Shakka and Avelino and has even supported Chance the Rapper on tour, Jay Prince is extremely talented and is due to blow up in the near future.

Salen, a trio formed of a lead singer (Ellie Kamio), a bass player (Paul Wade) and keyboard/guitarist (Simon Milner), combine the delicate vocals of Ellie Kamio and mellow production/instrumentals with the dark and unusual lyrics that define them.

The band have had success online, they have even reached the top of Spotify’s global top 50.

Cultivation saw Salen live while the trio were opening for Rejjie Snow (who featured on last year’s ‘artists we think are going to blow up’) and despite not being the headliners they got the crowd singing and gave a lively performance.
